Bonus: Human-Environment Interaction - Human-environment interaction looks at the relationships between people and their environment; how people adapt to the environment and how they change it.
Example – Think about how ancient Egyptians relied on the Nile River.
- depletion - using up some resource which can't be easily replaced
- destruction - what happens when something is broken or destroyed
- abundant - plenty of something, having more than enough
- ecosystem -All living and nonliving things in an environment
- generation - a group of one kinds of living things alive at about the same time
- movement - refers to the way people, products, information and ideas move from one place to another
- absolute location – specific place, using latitude and longitude
- relative location - same general location as another location - example: next to the post offic3
- region - an area that is defined by certain similar characteristics. Those unifying or similar characteristics can be physical, natural, human, or cultural.
- latitude - the angular distance north or south from the equator of a point
- longitude -angular distance east or west on the earth's surface, measured by the angle contained between the meridian of a particular place and some prime meridian, as that of Greenwich, England.
- geography- a science that deals with the study of the Earth’s surface.
- protagonist - the principle character in a work of fiction (ex. Percy Jackson and Bud)
- antagonist - someone who offers opposition (Luke, Ares, Hades, Herman Calloway)
- inference - drawing a conclusion on the basis of circumstantial evidence
- memoir – an account of the author’s personal experiences
- epilogue – a short speech by an actor at the end of a play
- genre – a specific type of music, writing or film. (mystery, fiction, poetry, biography, realistic fiction, historical fiction, etc.)
- narrative – a story, description or account of events.
- moral – a story that teaches a lesson. (example – The Tortoise and the Hare – Slow and steady wins the race.)
